There is no benefits to show window in 2D or 3D. I think pure 3D desktop (as Sun Looking Glass) looks well, but it doesn't use content. Your concept is not pure 3D desktop. If KDE windows will have real perspective and small dock window (for example, notes) will be rotated in 3D - this idea is good.
