Subject: Bug#31536: volume control level not automatic for very quiet THEN very loud files
From: connel () lindows ! com
Date: 2001-08-25 10:01:17
[Download RAW message or body]
Package: noatun
Version: 1.2.0 (using KDE 2.2.0 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.9
OS/Compiler notes:
#1) You guys are great!
#2) KDE 2.2 is looking great!
#3) OK, the bug already. Not a bug, but a feature request. There does not seem to \
be any way to auto-attenuate Noatun. So, when listening to a very poor quality sound \
file, followed (randomly) by a file that starts loud (or is of significantly higher \
quality) the difference can be quite startling.
I'd think an auto-gain feature shouldn't be too hard - well, at least I can hope.
Thanks again!
