There's nothing evil about it at all... Oh, where to begin.. First off, yes, recognizing a file as a list of urls by the name .m3u *is* a Windows legacy format. Surely the originating Mac app used some Mac filesystem way of knowing that a particular file was a playlist. Second, two of the three playlists in cvs *do* support that format.
