Great idea. It would be nice if you could chose simplified profiles. For example only (pcm) output channels (for things like mp3 players or games), only input channels (for recording), only microphones... Maybe it is also possible to make a more intelligent slider. The problem is that you need two sliders for a audio source, the master volume channel and the source's channel. So to turn up the volume of a MP3 you have to increase both. I think this will confuse some people. An intelligent slider for turning up MP3 would be at 0% if master volume OR pcm volume are at 0 (because then the user doesn't hear anything) and at 100% only if master AND pcm are at 100%. If you increase it the PCM volume will be increased until it is at 100%. Then the master volume will be increased while the volume of all other output channels is decreased.
