A lot of people are complaining because they want to use KDE but not run an
aRts sound server. I understand this. For instance, you can also run KDE
applications without X server (framebuffer), so why should we forever insist
on a certain sound server. Some people may want to use MAS or EsounD.

Especially if you're running on a low-resources machine without FPU (like the
iPAQ), this might be the only thing you can afford computationally.

CSL is the least cost way to achieve this for some apps.
