Well, as of now the future of KDE is still aRts, same as ever.  There are 
no guarantees that anything will ever replace it.  The only sure thing is 
that until someone comes up with a replacement that has all of aRts' 
strengths and more benefits besides, aRts can never be replaced in KDE.
