OS/Compiler notes: I use ALSA 0.5.12 with kernel 2.4.18

Seg faults durring start up. Kde3 checked out on march 22 worked fine, but 3.0.1 does \
not. Run from konsole the important info is:

Couldn't instanciate artsobject Noatun::Session. (This is normally caused by a broken \
package or compiling kdemultimedia in a --prefix different from arts.  It may also be \
from two conflicting packages, so uninstall every arts/artsd package you have \
installed and try againe.

However I am using arts-1.0.1 with kde-3.0.1 both compiled with the same prefix
