Briefly, the symptoms were that during my *first* use of noatun for KDE 3.0.1, I deleted my playlist from a CD I had mounted on my first drive, umounted that CD, remounted that same CD in a second drive, and used the select directory feature to fill in the playlist again. That sequence hung the playlist, the second drive light went on continually, and I was in the middle of some more command line stuff to see what was wrong when the keyboard froze. I couldn't get to a console, I couldn't even remotely log in to the machine. It was completely cooked so I had to hit the reset button. After the reset, anything I did to the noatun playlist seemed to work fine. So I suspect this bizarre one-time symptom was due to some initialization bug.
