OS/Compiler notes: 

The media player seems to have problems opening mp3 playlist file. It consumes 60% CPU for around 3 or 4 full minutes before the display even appears slowing the entire system to a crawl in the process.

This occurs when opening a .m3u playlist file with 306 entries, all on a local file system.
