Hello,

a compiling version 0.1.0 of libav is available here:

http://mpeglib.sourceforge.net/download/

(tested on Mandrake 8.1)

What is libav?
-------------

Its a library for audio/video output handling.
It does not include codec/demuxers or similiar.

Currently it supports video:

- Fullscreen support (XV,XVidmode)
- Colorspace transform (many transformations between RGB<->YUV
  and in conversion like YUY2->YUV12)
- image support, with support for "zero copy" between decoder/
  output

The library has many READMEs included for further information.

Why libav?
----------

libav is meant as a library for video playback. This means
standard support for fullscreen,colorspace conversion,image format and
synchronisation.

Currently all players have a home build solution, libav is
an attempt to solve this with a library special for this purpose.

Current state of libav is alpha.
