Though I was using GCC 2.95.3 to compile, apparently the configure script(?)
was also seeing that GCC 3.0.2 existed on my system as well, and may have been
trying to link to both sets of libraries? Or something equally strange?

At any rate, after much effort, I was able to (I think) completely clean gcc
3.0.2 off of my system, and now the compile goes through, though I DO still
see multiple "-lpthread" entries in places (I DO only have one version of THIS
as far as I can tell).

In short, at this point this is obviously related to the multiple "-lgcc
-lgcc -lgcc_s (etc.)" throughout the compile and not just noatun (these two
places in noatun just apparently were the only places where the list got so
long as to prevent the compile from working). I'm not
sure if this is a bug in the kde3 ./configure script or not (that it tries
to link with multiple gcc versions at a time) but it's obviously not a
'noatun' bug...

Sorry for the bother!
