Well, the list is young enough to maybe make that still worthwhile. Althoug= h=20 I'm generally not utterly happy to do this kind of things (you've to move t= he=20 subscribed people around, and so on). =20 > Candiate would be "kde-mobile", though we could even try to be more > specific, because nettops, netbooks and laptops are all mobile devices, > but we will focus on the smaller end I think. Actually I'd say that we won't be focusing only on the smaller end. That's= =20 what I like about MeeGo actually, it at last assesses that the situation is= =20 about a spectrum of devices of varying power and size, and not about a=20 handheld/not-handheld dichotomy and you have to sort the devices in there. I'd like our effort to be in the same spirit. And actually the plan I maile= d=20 is in this spirit, since we're aiming for several type of profiles. > Also, something like the kPad [**] will not be mobile but a sofa like > device probably with a touch screen and acceleration sensor. > "kde-handhelds", > "kde-touchy-feeling-not-really-meant-as-serious-suggestion"? ;) Actually here you're more focusing on the user interaction model. Which I=20 think falls into the efforts of each of our subcommunities (Plasma and PIM= =20 being spearheading there). Here I'd like us to focus on: a) making sure our platform is ready for the wide spectrum of devices and = can=20 be tailored easily by ODM (not butchered like you'd need to today) b) synchronizing the different subcommunities interested in addressing tho= se=20 devices (requires knowing which user interaction are available, but really = the=20 work of doing them is not this list job IMO). So really, I see here as the common ground for the platform. Not the "let's= =20 decide and make the UXs" forum. Note that I don't feel that was your idea, but used the opportunity to make= it=20 clear (and hence why I don't think the name of the list should have anythin= g=20 to do with what's available on the device for the user interaction, we got= =20 plasma-devel covering that already).
