MORE INFO:
I can't load 5.2.2 anymore due to the crash but I do remember now at one time
when I selected "New" file I did changed the color "depth" out of curiosity and
vaguely remember (I could be wrong) changing it to 64-bit something and perhaps
that setting is causing the crash.
Mow I know version 4.4.3 doesn't have 64-bit color depth, and perhaps version
5.2.2 doesn't either but I vaguely remember changing something to 64-bit.
Hope this might help.
From my understanding High Sierra is the only MAcOS to support 32-bit & 64-bit,
and perhaps there is some residue memory not being garbage collected that
causes Krita to keep old settings or files.
