One thing that has me fairly impressed with Mac OS (and isn't to complex
to implement -- and is partially implemented with the integration of
kdesu in 2.0) is that users normally login as a user and not root. When
you need to configure something that requires root permissions, it
clearly asks for the Administrative (root) password in a graphical
dialog.

The nice thing about this is users can be users, and only when they are
needed to be root, they can become root. It's a good thing to see Apple
trying to do things the right and secure way.

Another feature of Mac OS X, that is somewhat common in UNIX, is
programs are normally installed in the user's own directory (something
like ~/bin) -- except where the user specifically asks to have the
program available to all.

Okay, yes this is way off topic, but it is still interesting to me.
