I eventually figured out my problem. I changed dir_mime in /etc/kderc to /usr/local/share and now things behave the way I want. Thanks for your reply. I eventually figured out my problem. I changed dir_mime in /etc/kderc to /usr/local/share and now things behave the way I want.
