I would like to ask you an extra and specific question: when you open 
(with konqueror and file manager profile) the directory /usr/bin is it 
much faster then KDE-3 ?

This is due to the time to read all the files, add them to the screen 
and sort them. With the way Qt4 can handle that, I expect it do be much 
faster...
