Don't know if my JPilot sync problem and the missing Safely Remove 
option are related, but adding "modprobe visor" to my modules file fixed 
them both.

Now why I suddenly had to add "modprobe visor" in order for syncing to 
work is completely beyond me. The system had been syncing fine for years 
WITHOUT it.
