Yes. It only ran on "root".
The other login (the only other one I tried) did not have an entry under
"Multimedia" at all. Root had "xmms %F", not "%U". Both had xmms under the
debian menu tree without any command line options.
I put in the entry with %f, opened with that and it plays.
In konqueror, both places, now that I have it set up, I get the option to
open, say, an .mp3 on a web site, with xmms. The root login used to simply
stream it through xmms, no questions, no separate download to a temporary
location. I would like have it work this way.
(For security reasons, I no longer run konqueror as root.)
