Just about any USB-endowed player should be seen by Linux as a mass 
storage device and used as a removable SCSI hard disk drive. In other 
words, just mount it and use Konsole or Konqueror, etc. The main thing 
I would worry about, were I to buy a player, is whether it supports 
formats other than those encumbered by patents.
