  I'm having anodd experience with KDE3.1, I compiled it from sources on a 
RH7.3 machine and I can't set any backgrounds. JPG and PNG rendering is fine, 
as I can use them in Konqueror. I have rights to the files, so that's not it, 
any suggestions?
