That function is currently out to lunch.

If you want a background, you will have to add it to:

	startkde
	Xsetup

with a suitable command.

E.G.:

/usr/bin/xsri --emblem=/usr/kde3/share/wallpapers/tux.png 
--color=#1E72A0 --color2=#C0C0C0
