I think the problem I was having was with the precompiled Qt and KDE libs I
was using. They were most likely built with a different compiler than the
one I am using (probably egcs or somesuch.) I tried to recompile Qt first,
but it includes X11 files that cause gcc 2.95.2 to puke (by enforcing strict
C++ typing rules that extern "C" wouldn't fix.) It didn't help my KUML
build
that I switched from GCC 2.8.1 to 2.95.2 after 2.8.1 choked on the C++
syntax
in KUML. Realizing my mistake, I rebuilt the whole thing using one
compiler,
and while I still get a whole bunch of linker warnings, I got KUML to
compile.
Anyway, I'm glad I didn't tax too much mindshare on this dingy problem.
I think I'll go ahead and get on the devel list...I was going to take dia
and
make a Rational Rose killer if I hadn't discovered this effort. :)

Unfortunately I have no idea what is the problem and so I can't help. I am
working on a linux system and there are no problems.
If you find a solution please tell me or better write it down. This could
be the start of a first FAQ.
BTW: Actually most if not all discussions are done on the mailing list
kuml-devel. If you're interested in discussing you should subscribe to this
list. And there is an archive for both mailing lists available at
lists.kde.org.

I am sorry, there is no FAQ nor other documentation available yet.
