As for creating a library, look at the libtool in kdelibs dist.
You can have quite a pain until you get it working, though.
In linux, just use gcc -shared xxx.o -o libxxx.so and it works. It's not
totally correct because you are not setting the soname and/or the version
number, but that's left as an exrcise ;-)

I think it got a little too tall (in heavily crossposted messages, the
Newsgroups: line can get quite tall.)
