Hi!
If you follow the KOffice development a bit, you may have noticed that there
are several more or less unmaintained parts. This is really a bad thing, as
some of the other parts already reached an useable state or are on the way of
that. As the development on the framework calmed down a bit, I think we should
concentrate on the development of the applications!

So, first KSpread comes to my mind. This has already loooooots of features, but
most of these are hidden and not accessable via the user interface (but only by
magic keys which nearly nobody knows :-) As Torben does lots of other things,
he will not have the time to work on the user interface. So it would be great
if we could find somebody who wants to improve the user interface to make all
KSpread features easily accessable and so make KSpread more attracktive at all.

Another thing is KDiagramm. This doesn't work well at all (too much hacks here
and there). Torben started writing a cool 3D digramm engine. So if somebody is
interested in makeing a user interface for that and keeping working on (a
new) KDiagramm, he/she should probably contact Torben (weis@kde.org) to get the
code + instructions. Then we could replace the current KDiagramm with that one.

The next one is KFormula. This is also quite broken and not really useable. IMO
the kformula library in kdelibs works much better. Maybe somebody could make an
OpenParts interface out of that and replace the KFormula in KOffice with that
then. Anybody interested?

Also if somebody wants to work on other parts of the KOffice, you are
welcomed!!!

I really think that KOffice can be THE Killerapplication in the free software
development if we concentrate on application development and stabilize the
applications and do not change the framework all the time. If we don't get on
the correct path soon, we will never get a stable and useable KOffice and one
day the project might fail. So it's really important that we get more people on
board which are interested in application development!
