Yeah I had to update via backdoor means for 'flatpak' but then my whole distro got destroyed... Sounds like this is a little too bleeding edge for me :) I'm on latest OpenSuse 42.3 and Tumbleweed would be what I need to roll with, which I don't have time to maintain that level of cutting edge.

Seems like you have to update glib. "g_utf8_make_valid" was added in glib 2.52:
