The source code of the "junk" is about 20MB, I am sure you have plenty enough 
hard drive space for that. And as mentioned by pentalis, you don't need to 
build it.

There are packages for (k)ubuntu, opensuse, debian, fedora and freebsd (at 
least, might also already be in gentoo and other bsds).
