Ermm... yeah... as far as i remember it was changed to make selections work,
as COMPOSITE_COPY does not support selections at all. At least didn't use to
support.
So i think the only solution is to make COMPOSITE_COPY respect selections or
make an additional composite for user ui that works like "copy", but handles
selections.
