By the way, I just saw that there is also a Java version of the siox algorithm. The problem seems to be that it is not as optimized as the gimp version. I will also have a look at that. And the webpage also mentions a C++ version, but it is not available on the webpage. But I wrote an email to the SIOX team and ask them if they can make it available.
