I think it should definitely be added to the convolution painter. Krita is 
definitely missing a good, fast gaussian blur filter with arbitrary kernel 
sizes. On the other hand I guess it is not straightforward to make the code 
colorspace independent. I did not really try to understand the code, I just 
changed some things so that it works with Krita. If you want to improve the 
code and make it colorspace independent, go ahead. If not, I will probably to 
it at some point. But I had to admit that there are some other things I would 
prefer to do now, e.g. adding rela text layers:-)
