If you run ubuntu/kubuntu or another debian close, you can add the line in the 
attached mail to /etc/apt/sources.list and update.

I've compiled Qt with -tablet available at

deb http://dev.kubuntu.org.uk/~jr/kubuntu/qt-touch/ ./

Could you install that and tell me if it fixes things?
