OS/Compiler notes: 

I have can reproduce this bug many times using RedHat's RPMs for KDE 2.2.

- Kate or Kwrite.
- Spanish keyboard layout
- Typing αινσ works fine at first
- Open a dialog (like configuration)
- Type something in some field with the keyboard
- Return to the editing and try to type ασν: doesnt work now

It seems this bug was also reported on comments at dot.kde.org announce of KDE 2.2
