Summary: do not disallow editing of file while replace text popup
is present
Product: kate
Version: unspecified
Platform: RedHat RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kde-kant@kde.org
ReportedBy: colesen@transdyn.com
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.3)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux
I wish for the Kate replace text popup to not be modal i.e. to not inhibit editing of \
the file opened in Kate while the replace text popup is present. Sometimes you need \
to do some additional editing where the text to be replaced is found. Currently, what \
you do is first use replace and then find for the additional editing. If instead Kate \
allowed editing while the replace popup is present then you could avoid having to \
again use find for the additional editing and instead piggyback on the first find. \
This is how jEdit works. And it works pretty well (However, it does not capture a \
search string as Kate does by just resting the mouse on the word to be use in a find \
- as also MS VS does). _______________________________________________
