OS/Compiler notes: 

Open a few text files in Kate, and leave it run in the background for about 5 minutes.  Return \
to the window by clicking the icon for 'open' and you should get a crash.  This one's been \
bugging me for awhile, but I think that is the best condition for reproducing the crash.  I use \
kate a lot, and it crashes pretty often with this version.  Backtrace follows:
