Subject: Bug#39533: directory window ask for file delete when delete is pressed in editor window
From: Andreas.Nicolai () berlin ! de

[Download RAW message or body]
Package: kate
Version: KDE 2.9.2
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified
What happens:
whenever I have the directory window (left side) open and I'm editing a file in the \
editor window (right side) I'm prompted to confirm a file delete although I'm merely \
pressing delete to remove a character. Very annoying, workaround is to use backspace \
all the time or SHIFT-Delete, but this is a hassle!
How to reproduce the bug:
1. open the directory window
2. choose a file, single click opens the file in the editor
3. move to editor and type a few chars
4. press DELETE (not backspace) to remove the following char/endline etc.
-> BUG: the event is misinterpreted as "delete selected file"
Expected behavior:
clearly the "delete file prompt" should only come if the directory window is active
PS: The directory window cannot be updated when the directory/files change due to \
other applications, you have to restart kate -> BUG?

manually changed)
