Subject: [Kde-Kate] Bug#36215: Modification icon does not disappear if files modified outside Kate are reload
From: barry.myles () btinternet ! com
Date: 2001-12-15 23:52:58
[Download RAW message or body]
Package: kate
Version: Kate 1.0 (using KDE 2.2.0 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.1 2.96-98)
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified
To reproduce:
Create two text files containing a small amount of text.
Save them as 1.txt and 2.txt.
Now make a modification to text file 1.txt so that the disk icon appears beside it in \
the split window. Using a konsole modify the file in some way. I touched the file \
using 'touch 1.txt'. Back in Kate select file 2.txt in the split window.
Now select 1.txt again in the split window.
You should receive a dialog box saying "The file 1.txt has changed on the disk. Do \
you want to reload it?" Choose 'Yes'.
The file has been reloaded from disk and so no longer has any modifications. However, \
the little disk icon is still beside 1.txt denoting that it needs saving.
To sort this problem then the disk icon against a particular file needs to be removed \
from screen when reloading it from disk when a change is detected.

(Called from KBugReport dialog. Fields Application, KDE Version, OS, Compiler \
manually changed)
