OS/Compiler notes: 

the directory view on the left hand side does not get
updated properly after you remove the file. when
you remove the file, the directory view shows an empty
space instead of adjusting the remaining files.

to reproduce the problem just touch a file in the
directory that is shown and remove it again and you
will see the empty space.
