I applied the patch, it is now in KDE-CVS Head and can soon be downloaded from 
the kate homepage ( If I get write permissions there).

Hi,

according to my LaTeX documentation there are some font attributes
missing in the syntax highlighing file latex.xml. The following diff
adds the missing attributes to the latex.xml. I am using Kate 1.0
(KDE 2.2). I hope you can need this patch.

If this has been already fixed in the version released with kde 2.2.1,
i am sorry to waste your time.
