Hello,

we are resolving one thing with Pablo Saratxaga from MandrakeSoft. I
(and he) believe, that this should be resolved in KDE instead of in
Linux Mandrake. The situation is:

you install a fresh new system and select a Slovak (or another) locale,
as a default. But when you first run KDE 2.1.x, you:

1.) don't get correct language settings
   2.) don't get correct fonts
3.) don't get correct translation used

I believe, that when creating a new user (i.e. that one, which does not
have a .kde directory), default settings should use locale, that is set
in the system. That means get the charset and things like that from
locale, set the default font encoding from that. Then select correct
translation and country-dependent settings (i.e. currency, etc.).

What do you think about it?

Second thing: in Erlangen, we were talking about the possibility to use
keyboard maps outside the default rulesets file (as it doesn't get
updated). Is anybody working on this? I think we were talking about this
with Matthias Hoelzer.

  Have a nice day,

        Juraj.
