Hi,

the VDG is currently discussing renaming the sort order options in
Dolphin (and possibly other KDE Software). For this we need some input
from translators of non-Latin languages (Russian, Arabic, CJK, etc.)

In particular we would like to replace the terms Ascending/Descending
the sort order with clearer representations. In latin languages this
would be A-Z resp. Z-A. Now concerns arised that this would break for
languages with non-latin characters.

Our questions are:

Does your language have a concept of a first/last letter that can be
used to indicate sort order?

If not, is there another way to express the text sort order?

Do you see any issues for this approach when dealing with non-latin
locales and file names with latin characters?

Do you see any other issues with this approach?

Cheers

Nicolas
