In what way? The translation has to go through the translation
infrastructure regardless of it coming from a webUI or a tool.

And if the first bad translation is coming in from some drive-by
translator, there will be a point against webUI.
A translation is not a collection of translated words. If in one
application "folder" in German is sometimes "Ordner", sometimes
"Verzeichnis" and sometimes "dir" (coming from a developer, then the
translation is not helping. Well, this example might not be ideal but
a lot of translation work goes for unifying wording and translations.
If drive-by translators start throwing words as us and we have to
rotate just to revert and fix those translates words, then many "real"
translators might just give up and so something useful elsewhere.

In the German team (being a 1,5 man show) the perception over the last
years was that a new contributor is causing more work than he is doing
when he stays for less than a month whith talking on the mailing list.
And drive-by contributors do not subscribe to a mailing list.
Cannonocal has it's Rosetta and KDE translators who are part of the
game for longer than 5 years can probably remember fighting Roseatt
translations for years in Kubuntu. All those bug reports we had to
close. And ... well, German Kubuntu users had been asked to press
"Weltraum", which is the German word for "outer space".
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=181080
And this is just one of hundreds of complaints about wrong translation
coming from that webUI back then.

Regards
Frederik
