Yes. One adds # ctxt: ... comment in the line before the variable. E.g. in
dolphin/src/settings/kcm/kcmdolphingeneral.desktop:

  ...
  X-KDE-ParentApp=kcontrol
  X-DocPath=dolphin/index.html#preferences-dialog-general
  # ctxt: Random file browsing settings.
  Name=General
  Name[ar]=ﻉﺎﻣ
  Name[ast]=Dolphin xeneral
  ...

In the PO file it appears as:

  msgctxt "Name|Random file browsing settings."
  msgid "General"
