See e.g.: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=226634 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=226182 I added such an option in trunk, but backporting it in kde4.4 violates string freeze. Aaron suggested that instead of violating string freeze one uses the settings "Graphical Effects" (in systemsettings->appearance->style->fine tunning). But as Martin (Graesslin) pointed out this is not satisfactory since the performances drop also have been observed in some High performance CPU/GPU (e.g. NVIDIA). This to say, I'd really like to commit this simple "enable animations" option addition, especially since the exact same string already exists (in kde4.4) for oxygen style. Is there any objection against this ? What's the procedure ? I guess I can wait for e.g. one week for serious objections (notably from translators) against doing the above, and if none shows up, I'd just commit. Does that work ? Hugo
