Hello,

I found IMHO some problems and improvements in msgids in the following
file: kdeutils/ksirkskineditor.pot (stable, but maybe trunk also).

---------------------

Could it be possible to factorize the huge amount of HTML or standard
msgids? I mean there could be a general msgid like :

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0//EN\" \"http://www.w3.org/TR/
REC-html40/strict.dtd\">\n
<html><head><meta name=\"qrichtext\" content=\"1\" /><style type=\"text/css
\">\n
p, li { white-space: pre-wrap; }\n
</style></head><body style=\" font-family:'Sans Serif'; font-size:10pt;
font-
weight:400; font-style:normal;\">\n
<p style=\" margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-
right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px;\">%1</p>\n
<p style=\"-qt-paragraph-type:empty; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px;
margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0;
text-indent:0px;\"></
p>\n
<p style=\" margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-
right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px;\">The pool <span style=\"
font-style:italic;\">%2</span> element will be rendered on a pixmap of
width : <span style=\" font-style:italic;\">Width</span> * N<span style=\"
font-style:italic;\">umber of frames</span> and then split into individual
frames.</p></body></html>

Where for instance :
%1 = Cavalry number of individual frames. (and better : it could
correspond to the msgid "

Cavalry number of individual frames")
%2 = cavalry

...AND...
the same for other msgids, for instance:

Flag's sprite top left point y-coordinate.\n

\n

This is given relatively to the top left of the map, sized as defined in
the

main skin definition widget.\n

\n

This value will be automatically updated if you move the flag by drag and

drop.

=> goal: avoid several unneeded translations, easier to maintain
messages, etc.

---------------------

msgid : "Infantry's sprite top left point y-coordinate"
and :
msgid : "Infantry's sprite top left point x-coordinate"
differ in this way :
"This value will be automatically updated if you move the infantry."
and :
"This value will be automatically updated if you move the infantry by
drag and drop."
=> why, for some msgid, is it "by drag and drop" and others no? At the
beginning I thought there was a difference for x-coordinates and
y-coordinates msgid, but I'm not sure... (it's quite often, it's "by
drag and drop" for y-coordinates and nothing for x-coordinates). Is it
the rule?
=> should be synced / verified ?

---------------------

why "individual frame" ? "frame" wouldn't be sufficient ?

---------------------

One of the HTML msgid with "Cavalry number of versions" seem wrong :
"The pool caval<span style=\" font-style:italic;\">ry</span> element [...]"
=> mistake in "ry</span>" ?

---------------------

In a lot of HTML msgid, there seems to be a problem :
"Width</span> * N<span style=\" font-style:italic;\">umber of frames</span>"
=> why the "N" outside the <span> ?

---------------------

This should be a identifier-like string => This should be an
identifier-like string

---------------------

I think a contextual message could be added to:

    * msgid "Pool filename not found (...)" : what's "Pool filename"?
      there's a file named ... in which...
    * msgid "Map mask image not found (...)" : what's "map mask"?
      there's a file named ... in which...
    * msgid "PoolLoader" : what's this? technical internal term? is it
      necessary to translate it?
    * msgid "Any"
    * msgid "Flag ID in pool:" : there's a file named ... in which...
    * msgid "Flag sprite id in the pool SVG"
    * msgid "Flag sprite id in the pool SVG (pool.svg)."

---------------------

msgid with "x-coordinate" and "y-coordinate": it could be included in
parentheses. For instance:
"Point around which the country name is drawn x-coordinate" => "Point
around which the country name is drawn (x-coordinate)"

---------------------

Instead of "X" in msgids, is it possible to have a "real" chechbox
button (at least 2 times in the POT file).
Eg.: msgid #154

---------------------

Cheers!
