I can't comment on design aspects (who should hangle localization and how),
but implementation-wise, this:

  ls = ls.subs(params[i].toString());

sends all parameters to KLocalizedString::subs() as QString, whereas instead
an integer should be sent as integer, and real as real, in order to allow
language-dependent number formatting to kick in.
