So wherever the Persian language is mentioned in KDE, it should be referred to as "Persian". For your information, the main arguments backing this decision is: * Either "Farsi" or "Persian" is correct and descriptive enough not to use them both at the same time as in "Farsi (Persian)" * Academy of Persian Language and Literature [1] recommends use of "Persian" over "Farsi" [2] * The international standard, ISO 639-2 [3], recognizes our language as "Persian" * Adoption of "Persian" by many major dictionaries, universities, institutes, organizations, companies, etc. [4] --- Links --- [0] http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-i18n-fa/2008-February/ [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academy_of_Persian_Language_and_Literature [2] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academy_of_Persian_Language_and_Literature#Announcement_of_the_Academy_about_the_English_name_of_Persian_language [3] http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/php/code_list.php and/or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_639-2_codes#P [4] http://farsipersian.com/ -- Mohammad Ebrahim Mohammadi Panah ------=_Part_31529_15506793.1202497374168 Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Hello everybody,
