No they don't if they are translated, but if they are 10% translated you may
start working on a file that is obsolete, and that is really annoying.
The strings from obsolete files will be in the kbabel database anyway at least
for a while. I really think it is much to be preferred, that the set of
pot-files reflects programs in need of translation, and is not mixed up with
a bunch of obsolete files. It would also be really nice to get a system
working where po- and pot-files and documentaion is moved to stable at the
point of string freezes, also in the extragear modules. That would make it
easy to be sure that everything is translated for a release, and it would
also help if htere is a wish to change a very few strings from a former
release of an extragear program
