Just a little thing...
In es_ES it is said as Gerona, Valencia, Alicante and so on... just as the 
"old-style" way of speaking ;-)

In the roads you can read Alacant, Girona, A coruna, ... but it just because 
the laws are now transferred to the local administration, not because Spanish 
has changed.
BTW, In Spanish (and i am calling Spanish to es_ES, some of you may call it 
castillian and many other things, but in KDE we have ES for Spanish) is it 
said Gerona, Alicante and so on and not Girona or Alacant.

You can search for "alicantino" in RAE:

and you will see that in the "Official Spanish" it is said Alicante, not 
Alacant.
