It is possible to some limited extent in kde3, but the way you set the 
"other" language has to be changed every time you go into a deeper directory, 
so it is not very convenient. Also I am not sure there can be more than one 
at the time. The notion that one could get bug-reports from translators of 
neighboring languages I find rather fascinating.
