If you install libxml from rpm packages, you need libxml-devel too, if you 
are compliling from sources.

kdesupport is a package, that includes some libraries needed for compling. 
It's not needed, if your distribution is fairly new. kdesupport is merely 
needed for those, that keep their kde very up-to-date (meaning development 
versions of KDE).

information. It would also be helpful to know, which linux distribution you
