There is code in ksysguardd that gets the memory, but it's not that
difficult:  you just read /proc/meminfo


But as a caveat, the trouble with ram is that it's difficult to report
nicely.  The numbers often don't mean anything.  What do you class a
free memory?  Does that include buffer? And so on.
